You can simplify the holidays with a few simple tips:
1. Make a holiday checklist. Spell out everything you want to accomplish, and check off each item as it is completed.
2. Have a clean and clutter-free home for the holidays. You could even hire a cleaning service to do this for you.
3. Shop before the Christmas rush.
4. Shop in one place, such as the nearest mall. OR, shop online.
5. Collect all your holiday dishes and bakeware beforehand. Wash them and set them out.
6. Bake only 3 or 4 of your favorite holiday desserts. No need in making the 8-10 you usually bake. Simplify! Who needs all those sweets anyway!
7. Draw names. Who can afford to buy gifts for the entire extended family?
8. Send holiday postcards instead of traditional cards. No envelopes to stuff. Or, send them via email and save on postage.
9. Don’t forget to make a donation to charity. It will do your heart good to help the less fortunate.
It is possible to simplify the holidays by using just a few of these tips. The holidays don’t have to be hard, tedious, or stressful. Make a change this year.
